Coin Squeeze
Coin Squeeze: Performance
Coin Squeeze: Teaching
The Secret:
The tube with the plug inside will retain a coin when it is turned upside-down. That same coin will release when it is tapped on the side (i.e. If 4 coins are put in and dumped out, only 3 will exit; one will be held up in the underside of the tube).
Preparation: Hide one of the 5 coins in your LEFT hand.
Step 2:
Have a spectator examine the tube, making sure it is impossible to pass a solid object through it. Then, have your spectator place the 4 coins into the top of the tube.
Step 3:
Pick up the tube with your right hand and dump the coins out into your left hand, holding the 5th coin. It will look like all 4 coins came out, even though only 3 came out and 1 was retained.
Step 4:
The tube is now upside down with one coin on the underside retained. Gentally place it on the table. you now have 4 coins in your hand and one coin hidden in the underside. You are “one ahead.”
Step 5:
Count out loud as you put the 4 coins back into the top of the tube. Tap the tube on its side (use just your finger or something such as a magic want) and a coin will dislodge. Lift up the tube showing the coin on the table, proving it has penetrated through the solid metal wall.
Step 6:
Pour remaining 3 coins out of the top of the tube and into your hand. Continue turning the tube upside down, 180 degrees from where it started, and place it gently on the table, as one is retained.
